Feedback 2021 & Actions
To obtain accreditation, the last stage is the visit of the "Peer Review Team". This team consists of three deans from accredited international business schools. Their objective is to asses the school against the standards and provide recommendations for ongoing improvement.
Strengths, Unique Features and Effective Practices
Clear integration of CSR in strategy, teaching, learning, research and strategic partnerships and collaborations.
Good balance of theory and practice, which includes apprenticeship programs and required internships.
Emphasis in developing global mindsets, including mandatory study-abroad semesters.
Civil learning and engagement with social challenges in Lyon and abroad.
High level of collegiality, which makes the work environment attractive.
Commitment to continuous improvement and growth.
Recommendations
ESDES should strengthen and sharpen the criteria of faculty qualification in terms of intellectual contributions and requirements of practice activity.
The school would be expected to continue to mature its Assurance of Learning System (AOL).
Make the promotion system clearer for new faculty, particularly international faculty
The school should consider how teaching effectiveness is linked to the faculty's career development and promotion criteria
The faculty qualification criteria were last revised in September 2023:
Results:
Revised the SA status to ensure a minimum of 2 PRJ publications or 1 PRJ publication and a book.
The SP and IP status criteria has been modified to include an extensive list of professional activities.
The AOL system has been revised by the Teaching and Learning Committee since June 2022, leading to a simplified system in 2024.
Results:
A simplified and unique system for the assessment of learning that will be implemented from September 2024.
Rubrics for all LGs have been updated.
The faculty handbook is currently being revised.
